  • X-topic: Collaboration

Greetings!

When we were on the topic of collaboration the other day I was thinking about these things, but neglected to post the information.

I have used some of the ideas in this book with good success:
***Collaboration Handbook: Creating, Sustaining and Enjoying the Journey*** by Michael Winer and Karen Ray. Published in 1997 by the Amherst H. Wilder Foundation of Saint paul, Minnesota.

There is a project that is essentially Internet-based which utilizes collaboration, communication and cooperation, that, while not exactly the kind of project the EPA gets involved in, can serve as an example: It involves local governments (schools and school districts) and private partners (foundations, etc.) and is based in the unique knowledge of Indigenous Populations -- I strongly recommend anyone interested in collaboration have a look at the Website of the Cradleboard Teaching Project which is largely funded through the Nihewan Foundation and is the brain-child of one of North America's Elder/Educators: Buffy Sainte-Marie.

I also recommend the CD-ROM available on the site for purchase which is recommended for grades 5 - to adult ***Science Through Native American Eyes.***
