My experience in this area:

I am the Director of Nevada Net, the regional network for education connectivity for K-12,community colleges and Universities for the entire state of Nevada. We operate a very large distance education program over our network that includes all data interconnections within the state, Internet connectivity for education in Nevada, and a 50 site compressed video distance education system that carries over 1,083 hours of of classes on video per month. We realise that your announcement requested Pennsylvania registrations only but we are hoping that we can be allowed to observe and monitor your discussions so that we can learn aboutr this important issue and how we might apply ideas here in Nevada.

What I hope to learn:

We would hope to gather information and ideas that we can use here in Nevada to assist in our distance education delivery. If allowed, we would also like to share our experiences with the new regulatory issues in Nevada.

We would be happy to share any of our distance education and networking experiences here in Nevada with anyone who would contact us, or in the seminar if out of state comments are allowed. Our PSC is now having hearings on the new regulations and they are requesting input from all concerned sectors. For reference: Our network covers the entire state of Nevada and serves our urban and a very scattered rural population with internet access, school administrative connectivity, college and university education,research and adminstrative connectivity. We also provide and operate a 50 site distance education compressed video network that is combined with and operates over our data network facilities. The new regulations their impact and consequences are of great importance to us.
