How I heard about Universal Service: Pennsylvania: word of mouth

My experience in this area:

My extensive public management experience. I'm a principal local leader in financing, building, and developing community uses for local telecommunications networks and computer demonstrations in neighborhoods. I've written nationally about universal service and similar matters. I have *actual* experience with what the benefits are to communities that have extensive access to computers, the Internet, and the World Wide Web. I'm a fierce partisan of the notion that governments have a duty to extend the *means of production* to their citizens to the extent that they can do so responsibly and legally. I like to talk. But I also like to act.

What I hope to learn:

Who else agrees with the vision that Pennsylvania can develop some pretty interesting models for citizen access to information and technology? What are they willing to do about it? What are some issues that we all should keep in mind, so that unnecessary stumbling can be avoided? Where else can we look for inspiration? How much of a constituency is there for the idea that universal service means more than discounts for schools, libraries, and some healthcare facilities? Are any of the visionaries in Pennsylvania's business community willing to work alongside us in government to help the polity to thrive through the dispersion of technology?
