ACTIVITIES:
1. Initiative to link schools via administrative e-mail service with group mail and forum privileges. 60 % of schools on. 90% by June 1997-98 school year. 2. Creation of diocesan web page - completed. Creation of education dept. web page - beginning 3. Individual school initiatives run full gamut from those with just computer labs to those with LANs & Internet connectivity. 110+ elementary schools, 11 high schools over six counties.

BARRIERS:
1. Vastness of our "system of schools" - communication is a challenge. 2. Money - resources. 3. Some attitudes re: change 4. Non-public schools seen as "afterthought" for funding ex. L2L (first year)

GOALS:
1. Complete e-mail connect system 90% 2. Support LAN initiatives - Funding info, planning, etc. 3. 50% of schools "web" connected. - collecting data 4. Continue Ch 6 (Title VI) Tech. Coordinator initiatives.

(We need educational consultants and tech coordinators) (Sustainability: Expect help from special programs such as Apples for Computers, PNC, etc.) (Networking technology has potential to enhance community involvement; increases the relevance of student learning to some degree)
