As you are aware, the Bloomfield-Garfield Corporation has been trying to
arrange a meeting with Mayor Murphy relating to the I-Net proposal. We have
done it right as it relates to the process. We sent a letter to the Mayor
requesting a meeting and have put in about six calls trying to get a
response. Just yesterday there was a series of calls. Presently, our efforts
are at a stand still and I do not understand how to interpret that.
I am asking that you act decisively and meet with Mayor Murphy and Deputy
Mayor Tom Cox to respond to the request.
The I-Net working group wants to be the City's community support team in
order to make the I-Net a reality. We will never accomplish this goal if we
do not develop a clearly defined working relationship with the Mayor's office
and the negotiating team. I had hoped that once the Mayor had provided some
open meeting dates we would then check to make sure Councilman Cohen was
available.
We need to move on convening this critical meeting.
Thanks for your ongoing leadership on the I-Net creation.
