Dear City Leader,

The Community House along with the Community Literacy Center and Carnegie Mellon are located on the northside of Pittsburgh and work together with residents, schools, universities  and community groups to support learning and community literacy among urban residents. On April 20 the Community House Board board voted unanimously to support the two critical elements of the Pittsburgh I - Net proposal:

1. Free cable modems and related services (including Internet access) for 100 community groups.
2. An Extendable Institutional Network (I-Net) to 140 City, School District, library and museum buildings, with the capability to extend to nearby community sites.

We voted to support the proposal for these reasons:

The Community House, Community Literacy Center  is also committed to becoming actively involved in the planning
process that will lead to the full implementation of the vision. We look forward to working with each of you on this initiative.

Sincerely,

Wayne C.Peck
President
