I'd like to hear from participants in the discussion groups (tried to offer a comment, but couldn't get on) about successful experiences they've had with sustainability strategies that involved private businesses or business consortia. I'm well aware of the Blacksburg-Bell Atlantic deal and others like it. I know about some of the constituency building work of Charlotte's Web, and I'm familiar with the cable franchise agreements in Seattle and King County, WA. Since I represent a government, I'm well acquainted with the ways that public sector dollars can sustain these sorts of things. It's the on-going, multiyear use of private dollars, however, that really interests me at this point. Any information from participants who have begun to address that particular challenge would be devoured gratefully, here, in Pittsburgh. Regards, Dave Farley.
