Well, folks, if this reaches you, you should feel the warmth from my red
face, all the way from Texas... Seems that Laurie and I have discovered
that my e-mail messages are not going through the Intersanctum of the
Internet. Here's an attempt to forward previous message, using a
different e-mail account.

Howdy from Texas!
My partner, Yukari Jones, and I will be moderating the discussion group
on Professional Development...chosen, because it is the essence of our
project here in Houston ISD known as Project STAR (Students and Teachers
Achieving Rsults). Some current thoughts to kick off this discussion
section:
********
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT based on:
        Conventional wisdom vs innovative reform,...
complicated with today's demands for accountability,...
and further mixed with promises of help from technology
leads us to a bias on several aspects of professional development.
SO....
In the context of your particular programs, think about how you would
complete either (or both) of the following:
"I have seen that professional development is......."
   OR
"I have seen that professional development IS NOT....."
Tomorrow, after you have had a chance to catch up with our advance
thoughts, Yukari and I will begin to share our experiences.

Thanks for joining us. We are looking forward to a fruitful discussion.
