Clearly all the efforts at the Federal level for the infusion of
technology into schools will provide opportunities for restructure
reform, and revitalize. But the major problem is to move the vision
constructively from the Federal level to every school district
nationwide without loosing the vision or short changing one group for
another.
Funding request usually focused on the equipping of classrooms with
computers, wiring, and teacher training, but no focus have been placed
on the content or the training to access relevant and appropriate
content.
The question to help deal with the problem centering around content is:
How are teachers being helped in deal with curricular and
instructional issues?
Technology experts must continue to build bridges to the education
community. To avoid disappointment efforts to introduce technology into
the classroom, must ensure that teachers are given the training,
technical support, and time needed to integrate networking into the
curriculum. Further, many people are not as naturally enthusiastic about
computers and networking as the experts are; So user-friendly
applications and advice that meet the needs of those less comfortable
with technology will help to spread the use of networking through
schools. Unifying technological equipment, software, formats, and
network will be one less worry in the educational arena.
