Edward Stein

The editor saw this same bit of doggerel a number of years ago in a paperback edition of Bartlett's Familiar Quotations; however, the reference to a sculptor was to Jacob Epstein. The rhyme went like this:

I don't like the family Stein,
There's Gert and there's Ep and there's Ein:
Gert's poems are bunk.
Ep's statues are junk.
And nobody understands Ein.
