The Hill District: History: Annotated Notes

Minersville: The original text of the neighborhood history in Pittsburgh Neighborhood Atlas: The Hill states: "In the early days of Pittsburgh, The Hill District was known as 'Coal Hill.'" It is the Pennsylvania Department's understanding that 'Coal Hill' refers to what is now known as Mount Washington. Any clarification from readers would be appreciated.
