Downtown: The Great Fire: Note

- In transcribing the account of The Great Fire that appeared in "The
Mystery" for 16 April 1845, an attempt has been made 1. to maintain, to
some degree, the
flavor of the original and 2. to preserve its accuracy/inaccuracy
by transcribing as closely as possible the spelling and
punctuation of the original. The transcription is based on a poor quality
photostat made many years ago. The original itself no longer exists.
