Originally named Sixth Ward School.
Renamed Manchester School by reason of its location in the section of Allegheny known as Manchester when [Manchester Borough] was annexed to [Allegheny city] in [1867].
Renamed by a Special Committee of the Board of Public Education, February 18, 1913.
