  • X-topic: Introductions/Goals

My name is Sean Bechta. I am a senior project manager with EDAW Inc., an environmental consulting and planning firm, in our Sacramento Office. Most of my interactions with EPA have been through implementation of wetland regulations. However, I have been involved with a variety of public involvement processes through implementation of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). I have seen both the positive and negative aspects of public involvement on a variety of large and small project, including the disposal and reuse of Fort Ord in Monterey CA, hazardous materials clean-up at McClellan Air Force Base, Sacramento, CA, and installation of fiber-optic communications systems. Through my past experience implementing project specific public involvement programs I am hoping I will have something of value to add to this discussion.
